 Asian Environment Ministers to Gather in Jeju in July

 

-        The 2nd Ministerial Regional Forum on Environment and Health in Southeast and East Asian Countries is held in Jeju, Korea from July 14 to 16.

 

 

Environment and health ministers of Southeast and East Asian countries will join the 2nd Ministerial Regional Forum on Environment and Health in Southeast and East Asian Countries, which is held in Jeju Island from July 14 to 16.

 

The triennial forum aims to deal effectively with the environmental health problems among regional countries by enhancing the capacity of South-East and East Asian countries in environmental health management. Its members are 10 ASEAN countries including Korea, China, Japan and Mongolia and the first forum was held in Bangkok, Thailand in 2007.

 

At the 2nd forum, participants plan to share their knowledge and experiences on the implementation of integrated environmental health strategies and regulations. In particular, diverse events including symposium, seminar, and exhibition are scheduled to be held. Focusing on improving capacity for environment and health, relevant academic societies and institutions will release results of researches at a symposium. In addition, environment and health experts, groups and organizations from home and abroad will discuss mechanisms for international cooperation in environmental health technology at seminars. Through exhibitions, Korea’s local governments, groups, and companies plan to publicize Korea’s environmental and health industry.
