The Ministry of Environment announced it published a report 『The Biodiversity of Korea』, which contains the current status of Korea's biodiversity and the result of its policies on protection of wildlife. The report is published in both Korean and English.

The report consists of diverse contents such as Korea's status in the world; Korea's wildlife; and plans and efforts for biodiversity conservation, etc. It also introduces the ministry's efforts and outcome including making a list of 38,000species of wildlife through continuous investigation and excavation. In addition, diversity of ecosystem by sector including forest, freshwater and marine ecosystem is contained.

The report will be distributed to related institutes including CBD secretariat and diplomatic offices. It also can be downloaded through the website of the ministry. An official from the ministry said as the report is published and distributed, the ministry will publicize the fact that Korea has actively participated in the international efforts in protecting biodiversity and continue to preserve and manage biodiversity in a more active way.
